Acts Summary
My impressions of this great book:
1. Luke was a great historian. He gives us the facts in detail. As I read the book of Acts I can almost feel like I am there.
2. It is really “The Acts of the Holy Spirit.” Nothing happens by chance. The Holy Spirit directs everything and Paul is obedient.
3. Paul’s statement about “being content in every situation” (Phil. 4:11-13) is clearly seen in the book of Acts. Regardless of what happens, he adjusts and moves forward in obedience. He is content because he is obedient–a great principle I need to remember!
4. I also see the centrality of Jesus Christ in Paul’s teachings and in his actions throughout the book. He says in his letter to the Phillipians, “For me to live is Christ, to die is gain” (verse 11). And that truth is clearly demonstrated in Luke’s account.
